More Erosion's Of Freedom

This is a sad time to be a supporter of freedom and justice. Ken Clarke, our justice minister has announced that secret courts are going to become more frequent in the UK. The reason being that the security services, MI5/6 don't want their activities to be brought into the public domain. That very reason should send shivers down everybody's spine, because it means that they really do have things to hide. Nick Clegg has spoken out against "some" parts of the proposed bill. That is a smokescreen, the bill will go through the various stages and in the end it will pass into law and then yet more of our freedoms will have been lost forever. MI5/6 say that this bill will protect their operatives from being identified by foreign powers, another smokescreen, this bill will be used to give the various police forces in this country the pretext to crack down on people they have already identified as political agitators. Our rights to peaceful protest are already being curtailed and will be under more threat with the passing of this bill. Secrecy in government goes against the principles of true democracy and should be challenged by one and all. There are local (council) elections taking place in May of this year. This is a perfect time to make our feelings known. Say no to secrecy and yes to true transparent democracy.
