Scotland's dive to the bottom.

On April the first Humza Yousaf, the first minister of Scotland signed in to law, his, as it was him that drafted the bill when he was Scottish justice minister, the hate crime bill. What it means is, if someone says anything that can be construed as inciting hate or/and violence against anyone, any ethnic minority, gender identity, sexual orientation, it can and should be reported to the Police. All well and good you may say, but, and this is a big but, the person making the allegations can do so without divulging their name which opens up the situation of someone overhearing a conversation and something is said that offends them, they then phone the Police and make their complaint. The Police, as they have said they will do, will turn up at whatever place the complaint is made and subject to questioning, will be arrested. If charged and found guilty in court, the top sentence is seven years in prison.
You can read the act online. It is so full of grey areas that I found it to be exceptionally confusing. I will read it again and probably a few more times.
