Miscellaneous Current Affairs.

Back again after a stay in hospital. Ankle fusion operation. Still in plaster but on the mend.
Since my last post Trump has been elected, Britain's brexit, despite all the furore in the courts about parliament or the PM having the final say on instigating Article 50, we are no further forward in the process. Trump however is signing executive orders like there is no tomorrow.
On the home front, the Scottish parliament along with Wales and Northern Ireland are to be frozen out of brexit negotiations. A second independence referendum in Scotland seems inevitable. The timeline for that is still to be arranged. My guess is 2020.
Fake news is all the rage. BBC have been at it for years but it seems that Fox, Sky, CNN, MSNBC etc. have shown an appetite for it also. The Russians are to blame for everything, probably even the extinction of the dinosaurs.
All in all we live in eventful times. How will it all pan out? Who knows. It will however, be interesting.
Till next time.

US Election Result.

Well, it happened. The USA voted Trump as President. I was convinced that Clinton would have won easily. The lesson learned is 'don't trust public opinion polls'. Anyway, now, love him or hate him, Americans will have to work with him. Hang on a minute. I'm talking as if Trump will actually be making the big decisions himself, he won't. The big lobbyists like AIPAC, the pharmaceuticals and the military industrial complex to name three will use every underhand method known to man to get their own way. Also, it all depends on who he gets to serve with him in the White House. There is a lot of if's and but's to unravel before we can tell how Trump's Presidency will pan out. One more thing, I can't wait to see him try and get the likes of Fox News, CNN etc. on his side.

US Election. UK Government Cover-up.

First of all I need to mention the US election. The media are all over both candidates saying Clinton did this and Trump did that. Time to face facts, neither of those two people are fit to be President. It's one scandal after another and both should be up before a supreme court judge.
There is also a scandal facing the UK government. During the coal miners strike in the 1980s, a confrontation took place between striking miners and police at a place called Orgreave. The miners were protesting about the closure of coal mines all over the UK. The Orgreave protest was extremely large due to miners arriving from other parts of the UK. There was a very substantial police presence including units of mounted police. To cut a long story short, the protest quickly got out of hand. There are conflicting reports as to how the violence started with both sides blaming the other. However it started, it quickly became a running battle. There were numerous casualties and numerous arrests. The bone of contention is that there has never been a public enquiry into what has become known as the battle of Orgreave. Yesterday in parliament, the Home Secretary, Amber Rudd, ruled out any chance of ever holding an enquiry. The obvious upshot is that there is now the stench of a cover-up.  This story is far from over.

BBC Bias. Or Is it Propaganda.

For those who are unaware, the BBC screen a programme on Thursday nights called question time. Politicians, celebrities and journalists make up the panel who debate questions put by a studio audience.
The reality is that a certain percentage of the audience are hand picked and ask questions that seem to be loaded in favour of present government policies.
Last night for instance, the last question asked was about middle East policy. It quickly degenerated into anti Russian propaganda. Putin was blamed for everything except the crucifixion of Jesus.
No mention was made of the UK/USA police of regime change throughout the middle East since 9/11. Only film director Ken Loach mentioned Tony Blair's crimes that led to UK involvement in the Iraq war. There was no mention of the bombing of civilians in Mosul by coalition forces or, the war crimes committed by Israel in Gaza. Especially, there was no mention whatsoever of the fact that UK weapons are being used by Saudi Arabia to slaughter civilian men, women and children in Yemen. The last point compounded by the UK foreign minister, Boris Johnson and I quote, "If we didn't sell weapons to Saudi Arabia, someone else would" A pathetic reason put forward by a pathetic human being. One of the worst things is that the BBC by showing this become guilty by association. The propaganda spouted by the alleged journalists who work for the BBC on a daily basis is sickening. They accuse Russia of horrendous war crimes and yet never produce one shred of concrete evidence.
I could rant on for days about this but I will end it now before anger takes over completely.
Till next time.

US Election.

You can't help but laugh at the mainstream media coverage of the debacle that is the US presidential election campaign. It's the fact that they take it seriously. Trump or Clinton, Clinton or Trump. The public are told that they have a choice. Lie, they have no choice. Both candidates are ruled by one set of corporations or another. Clinton for instance is a liar, Benghazi for one. Trump just says the first thing that comes into his head no matter who he annoys. If the American voters think that anything will change, post election day, they are delusional. They were promised change by G. and G.W. Bush and also Obama. What exactly changed? Apart from yet more involvement in regime change, nothing else has changed. Corporations still rule the White House and banksters still rob their customers blind.
The French had the right idea to herald change in the 17th century. Got it in one, revolution. I'm not advocating that the American people use violence, am I?

UK Schoolyard Politics.

It's Wednesday and so it's time for the farce that is Prime Minister's questions. The reason it is a  farce is that the PM never gives a straight answer to any question put to her. She side steps and blatantly avoids everything. The questions asked by her Tory MPs are obviously planted to show the government in a favourable light. The only time the PM gets a hard time is when SNP MPs ask a question. Needless to say she doesn't actually answer their questions either.
The upshot is, PM's question time is pointless.

Bogus man Made Climate Change. 'Brexit' Shambles.

First of all I see that the bogus man made climate change (not global warming anymore) Nazis are at it again. Carbon Dioxide in the atmosphere has reached 400 parts per million. Who says it? UN experts. Who are they? We needn't worry about that, they're experts. As usual this is the annual attempt to put forward a case for a global carbon tax. Well, they can shove their carbon tax up their arses.
The farce that is 'brexit' reaches new depths of absurdity. Theresa Mays cabinet can't even agree on what 'brexit' actually means. She was effectively snubbed be EU heads of government at last week's summit meeting and, she wants to give Gibraltar, The Isle of Man and even the city of London special powers to negotiate a deal with the EU. However despite a decisive mandate from the Scottish people to remain in the EU, we will not be given similar powers. And so, a government that Scotland didn't vote for lead by a PM that nobody voted for dictates to a population of five million what they can and can't do. Do we live in a democracy or a dictatorship? I will let you decide.
Till next time.
